Project Introduction
As electric vehicles become more common, the need for efficient and accessible charging infrastructure grows. The Smart Charging Station project from Fordewind is a software and hardware solution designed to allow EV charging station owners to share their stations with other EV users, optimizing the use of existing capacity and creating a convenient network.
The core idea behind Smart Charging Station is to enable private EV charging station owners to easily and securely offer access to their stations when they’re not in use. This allows EV owners to find and book charging slots at a specified rate, while station owners can earn additional income. Our goal is to enhance the efficiency of existing charging stations and foster the development of a more flexible EV charging infrastructure.
Scope of Project
1. Smart Controller for Charging Station
This compact device connects to the charging station via RS-232 / RS-485 interface (other interfaces or protocols are available according to the customer’s requirements). It collects real-time data on charging status and power consumption, then transmits it to the cloud via Wi-Fi or cellular network.
2. Cloud Platform based on AWS
A scalable cloud infrastructure built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This platform processes data, manages bookings, tariffs, and interactions among all system participants, ensuring high reliability and security.
3. CRM System for Management and Control:
An intuitive CRM system provides station owners with full control over scheduling, tariffs, transaction history, and usage statistics. It helps effectively manage charging sessions.
4. Native Mobile Applications (iOS and Android)
User-friendly and functional mobile applications developed for both iOS and Android. Upon registration, the user selects their role – either charging station owner or client.
- For Clients: Find available stations, view tariffs, book sessions, make payments, and navigate to the selected station.
- For Station Owners: Manage availability, set tariffs, view bookings, track earnings, and monitor station status.
