HeartStream Analytics
BLE-connected ECG monitor with mobile and IoT integration for data collection and analysis
Project Introduction
This project involves the development of an ECG (Electrocardiogram) monitoring system that utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, mobile applications, and an Internet of Things (IoT) platform. The primary goal is to efficiently collect and process medical data related to ECG parameters.
The core of the system is an ECG monitoring device that records a patient’s ECG in real-time. This device is equipped with BLE technology, allowing it to communicate wirelessly with other devices, such as smartphones and the IoT platform.
Healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, have access to the IoT platform. They can view the ECG data collected from patients in real-time or on a scheduled basis. This allows for continuous monitoring of patients’ heart health and rapid response in case of abnormalities. All ECG and related data are archived in personal database records for later access and analysis.
Doctors and other medical personnel can communicate with patients through the platform. They can provide feedback, advice, or even schedule appointments based on the ECG data received.
Project's Specifics
Scope of Project
Architecture design
Our team was responsible for planning the system’s structure, technology choices, data flow, security, scalability, and performance.
UI/UX design
Our UI/UX designer is responsible for creating a user-friendly and visually appealing interface for the ECG BLE project. Their tasks include designing the user interface, optimizing the user experience, conducting testing, ensuring consistency, and making the platform responsive to various devices. They work closely with the development team and stakeholders to align the design with the project’s goals and branding.
Mobile app development
We developed well-designed, responsive, and user-friendly mobile applications for both Android and iOS. Patients use a dedicated mobile application to pair with the ECG monitor. This application facilitates the collection of ECG data, making it easy for patients to record and transmit their ECG readings.
Cloud communication development
The cloud infrastructure for this ECG monitoring project is designed to securely store, process, and manage patient ECG data. It ensures scalability, real-time data analysis, and strong security compliance. This infrastructure supports communication between healthcare professionals and patients, facilitates data analytics, and offers disaster recovery. It’s cost-efficient, accessible from various devices, and seamlessly integrates with the project’s mobile and IoT components.
Integration of the third-party HIPAA-complience VoIP service
The integration of a third-party HIPAA-compliant VoIP service in this project involves incorporating a secure and compliant communication solution that adheres to healthcare data privacy regulations. By seamlessly integrating this service, the platform ensures that audio and video communication between healthcare professionals and patients is both reliable and in compliance with HIPAA standards, safeguarding sensitive healthcare information during remote consultations and enhancing the overall quality of care.
Project management
The tasks involve coordinating projects, monitoring performance metrics, and aligning schedules with customers.
Quality assurance
Functional, usability, and load testing of ECG monitoring device.
